Christchurch's Summertimes Festival runs from November until March, and offers a host of free outdoor concerts in Hagley Park, including a Christmas concert, and Classical Fireworks concert, city-sponsored live music, and more. Keep your eye out for free theatre in the botanic gardens, the popular ghost tours at the Arts Centre, local markets, exhibits and summer events.
The World Buskers Festival happens every January, with international quality acts on the streets of the central city. In February, view the carpets of flowers at the Cathedral, during the Flower Festival.
March brings the Ellerslie Flower Show - one of the world's top five flower shows newly at home in the Garden City.
