Christchurch International Airport is the transport hub for all Domestic and International flights from around the world. From the Airport, a variety of transport options are available.
Bus: The 'City Flyer' is Christchurch's Public Bus operating daily from outside the Airport Terminal - look for the bus shelter signs for 'City Flyer' located near the International Arrival Terminal. The cost is $7 per adult. The bus stops just above Cathedral Square - from there, it's just a short walk down Colombo St to Dorset Apartments Cit (Peterborough St).
If catching the 'City Flyer' for your stay at our St Albans property, we would suggest a short taxi ride with your luggage from Cathedral Square to Dorset Apartments St Albans (Bishop St). This should cost around $10.
Airport Shuttle: Shuttles are available outside the Airport Terminal to take you directly to Dorset Apartment (either address). The cost ranges depending on your choice of company - but on average is around $17 for one person, $21 for two, $4-5 per extra person, $5 to add large items like bikes. If you prefer, contact our reception prior to your arrival and we can organise a shuttle pick-up service for you at the rates above.
Taxi: a taxi stand is located outside the Airport Terminal. The cost should be between $35-40 to Dorset Apartments.
Rental Cars: all major rental companies have offices at the Airport Terminal for you to hire cars from.
The Christchurch Train Station is situated not far from the city and close to the south side of Hagley Park. It is the termination stop for both the 'TranzAlpine' and 'TranzCoastal' train journeys. From the train station a shuttle is available to transport you to Dorset Apartments at reasonable rate ($6 to city, approx). Alternatively, catch a taxi for approximately $10-12 (City property) or approximately $13 - $15 (St Albans property).
The InterCity Coach Terminal is centrally located at 123 Worcester Street, in central Christchurch. From here it is approximately a 10 minute walk across to Colombo St, and straight down to Peterborough St and Dorset Apartments City. Alternatively, there are taxis available from the Square to take you to Dorset Apartments St Albans. Atomic Shuttles, Southern Link and Wanaka Connexions all drop off in the Square.
The Bus Exchange is the central hub for almost all bus routes in Christchurch and the services can be used to access most parts of the city and surrounds. The Bus Exchange can be found on Lichfield St, just a couple of blocks above Cathedral Square and around 10 minutes from Dorset Apartments City, or 20-25 minutes from Dorset Apartments St Albans.
Dorset Apartments City are located on Peterborough Street, centrally located in the block between Colombo St (one of the main streets in and out of the central city) and Manchester St.
Dorset Apartments St Albans are located in Bishop St, directly off Bealey Avenue at the top of the central city.

Dorset Apartments City are located approximately 10 minutes walk North of the Square. Follow Colombo St out of the Square (in the opposite direction from the hills) and keep walking. You will cross Gloucester St, Armagh St and Kilmore St, and Peterborough St is the next you will come to. Turn right off Colombo, and you will find Dorset Apartments around 50 metres down, on the left hand side of the road.
Dorset Apartments St Albans are located approximately 25 minutes walk North of the Square. Follow Colombo St out of the Square (in the opposite direction from the hills) and keep walking. You will cross Gloucester St, Armagh St and Kilmore St, Peterborough St, Salisbury St, and then Bealey Avenue is the major four-lane road you will come to. Cross over to the other side of the road. Turn right, and walk along Bealey Ave (crossing Sherbourne and Manchester Sts) until you reach Bishop St, the third street along. Turn left onto Bishop St, and you will find Dorset Apartments at 60 Bishop St, halfway down the second block, on the right hand side of the road.
