Can I invite some friends to stay?

One bedroom apartments cater for two people, (one double bedroom), and two bedroom apartments cater for four people (two double bedrooms). If you have other friends who would like to stay, we can accommodate up to four people in a one bedroom apartment, and up to six in a two bedroom apartment.

Extra guests will have either single beds in the larger bedrooms, or rollaway beds in the lounge areas depending on the size of the apartment. One bedroom apartments are smaller and do not have space for more than one extra guest. There is a small charge of $25 per extra guest, per night. Please enquire for availability.

 

Do you have a minimum stay?

There is no minimum stay period. Please make sure that if you are planning on arriving after midnight, that you book your apartment for the night before rather than the date of your arrival – i.e. if arriving in the early hours of the 3rd of January, you need to book for the night of the 2nd to ensure your apartment is available for your arrival.

Is the apartment serviced during my stay?

Your apartment is private, and has all the benefits of home. Your apartment will be professionally cleaned prior to your arrival, but not during your stay. Those guests staying longer than three nights will have their linens and towels changed and rubbish emptied on the fourth day. If you would like your apartment fully serviced during your stay, this can be easily arranged for a small fee of $20.00 per service.

 

Do I have to clean the apartment when I leave?

Guests are expected to leave the apartment in a reasonably tidy state.  This includes washing your dishes, wiping down kitchen surfaces, and placing any rubbish into the bins provided. We would appreciate your help with placing your rinsed recyclables (such as glass bottles, tins, drink cans, paper and card) into the green bin that you will find in your kitchen. We’ll take care of the rest. Additional charges may apply if excessive cleaning is required.

Please note that guests are expected to wash and put away their own kitchen dishes. Your cooperation with this is what helps us keep Dorset Apartments highly affordable.  A $50 cleaning charge will apply if you prefer to leave your dishes for our staff to wash.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is available from 2pm onwards. We ask guests to check out by 10am on their day of departure. Our housekeeping staff arrive at 10am to commence cleaning vacated apartments.

Can I have a late check-out?

Please ask us. Late check-outs depend on the availablity of housekeeping staff to clean your apartment later in the day, and whether there is another guest arriving to stay in your apartment that evening. In general we operate to a tight schedule and late check-outs are not always possible, but please enquire and if we can help we will. Charges may apply to late check-outs.

What are the dates that Dorset Apartments are available?

Dorset Apartments City (Peterborough St) are available all year around. Please check our prices page for availability for your required dates. We can often accommodate 1-bedroom bookings even when only 2-bedroom apartments are showing on our site as available, so please don't hesitate to ask us directly. 

Dorset Apartments St Albans (Bishop St) are open during the summer months only, opening in early December and closing in April for the winter period.

What is your reservation policy?

All reservations must be accompanied by a valid credit card, cardholder’s name and the expiry date of the card. We cannot accept a reservation without this information. A 10% deposit will be charged to your card at the time of reservation. The remainder of the full cost of your booking will be charged to your card one week before your arrival.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

The following cancellation policy applies to all reservations: If your cancellation is made outside 30 days: No charge applies. If your cancellation is within 30 days, but outside 14 days of arrival: a 50% cancellation fee applies. Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival: 100% cancellation fee applies.

Can I check out early?

We only have a small number of apartments.  When you booked your apartment we then turned away other potential guests for those dates. Therefore, if you check out earlier than originally booked, there will be no refund applicable. We are unable to accept responsibility for weather, changes in travel plans, delays or sudden emergencies.

 

What happens if there is damage made to the apartment?

Any damage to the apartment, the building, grounds or chattels caused by guests will be charged to the guest who made the booking. Should you discover any damage when you arrive at your apartment, please let us know immediately. If you do not advise us, you will be responsible for the condition of the property on your departure.
